Cherish van Mullem is the Director of the Low-Income Tax Clinic and an Associate Professor at LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. The clinic, which launched in 2025, provides free legal assistance to Louisiana taxpayers in disputes with the IRS.
Before joining the LSU faculty full-time, Cherish spent several years at LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors, where she provided tax planning, advisory, and compliance services with a focus on estate, gift, and succession planning, state and local taxation, and family business tax planning. She also served for several years as an adjunct professor at LSU Law, teaching Income Tax I, before moving to the faculty full-time.
