Becky is from Lake Charles, Louisiana. She graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University. After graduation, she was a White House intern in the Office of Presidential Advance. Afterwards, she worked as the SWLA Regional Representative for U.S. Senator David Vitter. She graduated from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where in addition to her studies, she worked as a lobbying intern at the Louisiana Legislature and as a student attorney for victims of domestic violence. Since the beginning of her legal practice, she has consistently practiced family law. Becky is a member of the Louisiana State Law Institute’s Marriage-Persons Committee and is appointed to the Fourteenth Judicial District Court’s Local Rules Committee. She has served as President of the SWLA Bar Association, currently serves as Vice President of the SWLA Bar Association’s Family Law Section, Treasurer of the SWLA Bar Foundation, and is a member of the House of Delegates for the Louisiana State Bar Association. She is an instructor for the Trial Advocacy Program at LSU Law and is on the planning committee for this 29th Annual LSU Law Family Law Conference. Over the years, Becky has been consistently recognized as a Family Law “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers, honored as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, and named to the “Top Lawyers in Acadiana” list by Acadiana Profiles Magazine. Becky is married to the former mayor of Lake Charles, Nic Hunter. They are co-owners of a restaurant, Villa Harlequin, and they have a son and two daughters. Becky practices family law at The Johnson Firm, in Lake Charles.
