Anderson O. “Andy” Dotson III is a native of Monroe, Louisiana and received a BS in Chemistry from LSU in 1996. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from the Southern University Law Center in 2000 where he was the Executive Editor of the Southern University Law Review. Mr. Dotson was previously associated with the law firm of Phelps Dunbar, LLP from 2000-2009 and the Office of the Parish Attorney for the City of Baton Rouge/Parish of East Baton Rouge from 2009-2024, culminating in serving as Parish Attorney from 2019-2024. He also maintained a private practice with the Dotson Firm, LLC from 2010-2024.
By appointment of the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board with confirmation by the Louisiana Supreme Court, Mr. Dotson now serves as Chief Disciplinary Counsel for the State of Louisiana. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and was previously an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Southern University Law Center.
