Eric K. Barefield is Ethics Counsel in the Professional Programs Department of the Louisiana State Bar Association, where he oversees the LSBA's Ethics Advisory Service and handles lawyer advertising filings. A 1995 graduate of the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Orleans Parish and as Deputy Disciplinary Counsel with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel before joining the LSBA staff in 2005. At the LSBA, he coordinated the launch of the Law Office Management Assistance Program and the Solo and Small Firm Conference.
