Speaker Bio
Tracy L. M. Norton holds the Erick Vincent Anderson Professorship and Professional Responsibility Professorship #6 at the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Her scholarship and teaching address the professional responsibility questions raised by generative AI in law practice. Her forthcoming article My Brothers' Keeper: Competence, Generative AI, and the Practitioner Who Opts Out argues that competence now reaches the lawyer who declines to use AI. Her other current work includes The Supervision Gap, on the professional judgment that AI oversight requires, and, with Susan Tanner, an article grounding AI prompt architecture in rhetorical theory. She received the 2026 Association of American Law Schools Technology, Law and Legal Education Section Mentorship Award.
