Lauren Brink Adams focuses her practice on property damage and environmental contamination arising out of oil and gas exploration and production activities; torts relating to property matters, including trespass, nuisance, premises liability, and neighboring landowner claims; and breach of contract.

She has defended a broad range of clients in the oil and gas, and commercial and industrial construction industries against complex litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, including the ongoing defense of one of the nation’s largest aggregates company in complex state and federal litigation in connection with brine solution mining operations.

Ms. Adams graduated magna cum laude from LSU Law in 2016 after serving as Junior Associate and Senior Editor for the Louisiana Law Review. She and her husband, Albert, are the proud parents of their 14-month old, Albert (“Trace”) Ivan Adams, III.

He also served as Chairman of ENPAC-Louisiana, a federal political action committee. Prior to joining Entergy, Emory was an Assistant Attorney General with the Louisiana Department of Justice for 10 years, serving as General Counsel for the Louisiana State Mineral Board for 6 years. Early in his career, Emory was a Company Landman with Exxon Company, USA in Houston, TX.

Emory has more than 20 years of experience, including complicated electric & gas utility issues, oil, gas, and pipeline related issues, governmental & political affairs, commercial & industrial transactions, and real estate. His experience within the energy industry in both governmental and business law settings empowers him to quickly recognize necessary components involved and to facilitate important decisions. He provides expertise to clients in all aspects of state and federal regulatory undertakings with respect to electric and gas utilities, from generation to distribution. Additionally, he creates solutions for oil, gas, and pipeline matters, from well-head to burner tip.

M. TAYLOR DARDEN was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on December 6, 1952. He received his Bachelor of Arts in 1974, and his Juris Doctorate in 1977, both from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduation, he joined the firm of Milling, Benson, Woodward, Hillyer, Pierson & Miller in New Orleans, where he began a practice based primarily in Louisiana mineral law. In 1994, along with seven other attorneys, he founded the firm of Carver, Darden, Koretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman & Areaux L.L.C., a firm that has grown to almost 40 attorneys with offices in New Orleans and Belle Chasse, Louisiana and Pensacola, Florida.

Mr. Darden’s current practice centers on general property law and oil and gas advices. In his nearly forty-four years of practice, he has handled a range of cases, including claims for property damage resulting from natural gas and oil well blowouts, suits for mineral lease cancellation, the defense and prosecution of expropriation claims, as well as claims over titles and boundaries. He offers general property and oil and gas advices on matters pertaining to mineral leasing, lease and servitude maintenance, joint operating agreements, royalty disputes, and surface use agreements.

Mr. Darden is a former member of the Advisory Council for the Louisiana Mineral Law Institute, where he served two terms as Chairman (1990-92). He also served a two-year term on the Louisiana Law Institute (1991-92) and was later appointed as a member of the Institute's subcommittee for the revision of the Louisiana Oil Well Lien Act (1992-1995). In 2018, he was appointed as the Louisiana Landowner Association’s representative on the Public Recreation Access Task Force, created by Senate Concurrent Resolution 99 of 2018, which was tasked to examine the issue of competing ownership claims between the State and private landowners over natural and man-made water bottoms and the public’s right to access them. Currently, he is serving as the LLA’s representative on the Louisiana Law Institute’s Mineral Law Committee.

From 2006-2009, Mr. Darden served on the Board of Directors of Professional Landmen’s Association of New Orleans, acting as its Treasurer in the final year of his term. Over the years, he has been active in the alumni affairs of the LSU Law School and, in 1995, served as President of its alumni association. In 2011, Mr. Darden was appointed General Counsel of the Louisiana Landowners Association.

Mr. Darden is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association and he is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and all State and Federal Courts in the State of Louisiana. In October 2005, Mr. Darden was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the nation’s preeminent trial lawyer’s organization.

Barry H. Grodsky is a partner in the New Orleans firm of Taggart Morton, L.L.C. and past-President of the Louisiana State Bar Association. He received a BBA degree, with honors, in 1979 from the University of Texas-Austin and his JD degree in 1982 from Tulane University Law School. He was admitted to practice in Louisiana in 1982. Barry served as Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) president-elect in 2017-18 and as secretary and editor of the Louisiana Bar Journal from 2013-15. He represented the First Board District on the LSBA’s Board of Governors and chaired the Committee on the Profession. He coordinates several law school professionalism programs for the Bar. In 2009, Barry accepted the American Bar Association’s Smythe Gambrell Professionalism Award on behalf of the Committee on the Profession. He is a member of the Budget Committee and the Bar Governance Committee and serves on the LSBA Fee Arbitration Panel. He also served on the Continuing Legal Education Committee. Professor Keith B. Hall is the Campanile Charities Professor of Energy Law, and the Director of the Mineral Law Institute at LSU Law Center. He teaches Mineral Rights, Advanced Mineral Law, International Petroleum Transactions, and an Energy Law Seminar which focuses on environmental issues relating to the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining the Law Center’s faculty in 2012, he taught Introduction to Mineral Law as an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University School of Law from 2008 until spring 2012, and practiced law for 16 years at Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann LLC in New Orleans. His publications have focused on oil and gas leases, pooling and unitization, hydraulic fracturing, induced seismicity, and the management of produced water. He is co-author of one of the two national casebooks on oil and gas law and also is co-author of a book on the legal issues relating to hydraulic fracturing. He is a frequent speaker at national and international oil and gas, energy, and environmental law conferences, and is a contributing co-author to the forthcoming new edition of the leading textbook on international petroleum transactions. In addition to teaching at LSU, he has taught energy law classes as a visiting professor at Baku State University in Azerbaijan and at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and as an adjunct professor at Loyola University College of Law. Professor Hall is a member of the Board of Editors for the Oil & Gas Reporter, the Board of Trustees for the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, the Advisory Council for the Institute for Energy Law, and the Board of Trustees for the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation. He is a former Chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association's Environmental Law Section and former Chair of the Oil & Gas Committee of the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. He serves on the Louisiana Law Institute’s Water Law Committee and is a registered professional engineer. He co-authors “Recent Developments: Mineral Law” for the bimonthly Louisiana Bar Journal. Professor Hall received his law degree, summa cum laude, from Loyola University College of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the Loyola Law Review. He graduated from Louisiana State University with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering.

His areas of experience include state and federal laws, as well as regulations and rules affecting exploration, production and upstream facilities. Bruce is the co-author of several important books that have become the definitive references for energy lawyers, including two multi-volume treatises, The Law of Pooling and Unitization and Williams and Meyers Oil and Gas Law (since 1996). Patrick H. Martin is Campanile Professor of Mineral Law, Emeritus, at Louisiana State University Law Center. Professor Martin taught at the LSU Law Center from 1977 to 2011, including courses in Jurisprudence, Contracts, and Mineral Law. From 1982 to 1984, he served as the Commissioner of Conservation for the State of Louisiana. Professor Martin holds the B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from Louisiana State University and the J. D. degree from the Duke University Law School. His publications include Pooling and Unitization (with B. Kramer) and Williams & Meyers Oil and Gas Law (update and revision author with B.
