“I felt as if my family had died and my whole life as I knew it would be changed forever.”  Studies examining the children of divorced parents have found that most suffer a sense of loss and that behaviors can manifest in many different ways depending on the children’s ages and situations.  This presentation will review common reactions to divorce in children and adolescents as well as warning signs that the child or adolescent may be contemplating suicide.  A case study will be discussed.  Recommendations to discuss with parents will be provided as well as referral resources.
