
Mr. Anderson O. Dotson III

Anderson O. “Andy” Dotson III is a native of Monroe, Louisiana and received a BS in Chemistry from LSU in 1996. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from the Southern University Law Center in 2000 where he was the Executive Editor of the Southern University Law Review. Mr. Dotson was previously associated with the law firm of Phelps Dunbar, LLP from 2000-2009 and the Office of the Parish Attorney for the City of Baton Rouge/Parish of East Baton Rouge from 2009-2024, culminating in serving as Parish Attorney from 2019-2024. He also maintained a private practice with the Dotson Firm, LLC from 2010-2024.
By appointment of the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board with confirmation by the Louisiana Supreme Court, Mr. Dotson now serves as Chief Disciplinary Counsel for the State of Louisiana. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and was previously an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Southern University Law Center.

Mr. Kenneth P. Haines

Kenny is a proud 1989 graduate of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU. He has been practicing law with the same Shreveport firm, Weems, Schimpf, Haines! & Moore, for over 35 years handling all aspects of family, business and injury litigation in his career.
He has worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the 2"d and 42"d JDCs, where he handled all post conviction matters and appeals for those DA offices. He worked on Child in Need of Care cases and handled juvenile and child support matters for the DeSoto District Attorney's office.
Kenny clerked for the late Pike Hall, Jr. at both the Second Circuit Court of Appeal and Louisiana Supreme Court. He has been lead counsel in well over one hundred appeals in his career. He has spoken on both family law and appeal topics for the SBA, LSBA and LSU. He has been Chairman of the Appellate Specialization Advisory Commission and the 2024 President of the Shreveport Bar Association.
He is the only lawyer in the State of Louisiana certified in both Family Law (2004) and Appellate Practice (2017).

Professor Andrea B. Carroll

Andi Beauchamp Carroll is the Associate Dean for Student & Academic Affairs and the Donna W. Lee Professor of Family Law at the LSU Law Center. Before joining the LSU Law faculty, Professor Carroll clerked for The Honorable W. Eugene Davis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She subsequently worked as an associate at the Dallas law firm of Baker Botts, L.L.P., handling appellate litigation. In 2003, Professor Carroll returned home to LSU Law, where she has been teaching and writing about family law, community property, and property for nearly two decades. Professor Carroll is the author of more than a dozen books and articles in her field. She has recently been published in the Cambridge University Press and her Tulane article on civil law property was honored as outstanding scholarship at the Stanford-Yale Junior Faculty Forum. Professor Carroll is active in law reform in Louisiana, as a Member of the Council of the Louisiana State Law Institute and the Institute’s Children’s Code, Adult Guardianship, Surrogacy, and Property Committees. She has led successful legislative reforms in the areas of child relocation, spousal support, surrogacy, and community property reimbursement rights. As Reporter of the Law Institute’s Marriage and Persons Committee, Professor Carroll continues to work to improve the law related to marriage and the family.

Lila Tritico Hogan

Lila Tritico Hogan is a partner in the law firm of Hogan Attorneys in Hammond where her practice is concentrated in family law, successions, and mediations. Lila graduated from the LSU Law Center in 1975, and clerked for Louisiana Supreme Court Justice Albert Tate, Jr. She is a Board Certified Family Law Specialist and has served on multiple boards and committees. She is currently on the Louisiana Law Institute Council and its Marriage-Persons Committee, and the LSU Family Law Seminar Advisory Committee. Lila is a past Chair of the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board having served on the Board for nine years. For her service to the profession, Lila received the President's Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the LSBA's Young Lawyer Section. She has lectured and taught numerous seminars at all four Louisiana law schools and SLU, the LSBA's Ethics School, Bridging the Gap, and MCLE for New Admittees. Her topics have included law office management, ethics, mediation, collaborative
divorce, community property, family law, public retirement interests, elder rights, domestic violence, and professionalism. Lila is married to Attorney Tom Hogan and has four children and three grandchildren.

Judge David A. Blanchet
15th Judicial District Court, Division H
Judge David A. Blanchet is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana. He was elected District Judge of the Fifteenth Judicial District Court, Division “H”, in 2002 and took the bench on January 1, 2003. He is one of two Family Court judges in the Lafayette Parish and one of three Family Court Judges in Acadia and Vermilion Parishes. Prior to his election, he engaged in general trial practice focusing on family law. Judge Blanchet was recognized by the Louisiana Bar Association as a “Board Certified Family Law Specialist” in 1995 and actively maintained that designation until his election. Judge Blanchet remains on “inactive senior status” as a specialist in the field of family law.
Judge Blanchet graduated with distinction in 1976 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, receiving a degree in Political Science. Judge Blanchet received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1980 from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. During his studies at the LSU Law Center, he was a Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition Finalist, was a member of the Moot Court Board and served as President of Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity.
Judge Blanchet is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association where he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Family Law Section, as well as a member of the Family Law Advisory Commission. Judge Blanchet is also a member of the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, where he served as a member of the Board of Directors, President and Vice President of the Paula K. Woodruff Family Law Section. Judge Blanchet served on the Supreme Court’s Rules subcommittee developing uniform rules for family courts and on the District Court Rules committee.

Judge Charles G. Fitzgerald
3rd Circuit Court of Appeal-Lafayette Parish
Judge Charles G. Fitzgerald earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Louisiana State University in 1997. Thereafter, he attended the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, from which he graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree in 2001. While in law school, he was selected to the Order of the Coif, and he was also a member of the Louisiana Law Review.
After graduating from law school, Judge Fitzgerald was a founding member of the law firm Cox Fitzgerald LLC, where his practice focused in the family law area, with an emphasis on complex financial and community partition matters, and litigation in those areas. Judge Fitzgerald’s judicial career began when he was elected District Judge of the Fifteenth Judicial District Court, Division M, in November 2014. He served as a district court judge for six years, from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2020. In July 2020, he was elected without opposition to the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal. His service as an appellate judge began on January 1, 2021. Judge Fitzgerald is a member of numerous professional associations, foundations, and organizations. And while in private practice and since taking the bench, he has been a frequent presenter at regional, state, and local continuing legal education seminars. He has presented on various legal topics, including ethics, professionalism, business valuations, and evidence. He is an annual participant in the Judges in Classrooms and Judicial Ride-Along programs. He has hosted numerous educational presentations for students throughout Acadiana, and he regularly participates in the LBA Young Lawyer’s Mock Trial competition for high school students.

David G. Koch is a Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist and a Board Certified Taxation Specialist with a practice focusing in wills and estate planning, probate, federal taxation, business transactions, and IRS resolution. He has “AV” Preeminent rating with Martindale and a Louisiana Super Lawyer in tax law. He has an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University, where he graduated first in his class. He received his law degree and undergraduate degree in accounting from L.S.U., and is also Certified Public Accountant (inactive). CLINTON M. BOWERS is a member of the Shreveport law firm of Bowers Law Firm, LLC, having joined the practice in 2009. He attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, cum laude, in 2005. He attended the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. Dr. Amy Cavanaugh is a licensed clinical and medical psychologist serving the Acadiana area since 2005. Dr. Cavanaugh earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, a Master of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Arkansas. Dr. Cavanaugh completed internship and post-doctoral fellowship training at Tulane University Health Science Center with a specialty in infant mental health and pediatric psychology. In 2011, Dr. Cavanaugh earned a post-doctoral Masters of Science Degree in clinical psychopharmacology from Alliant International University. Dr. Cavanaugh provides psychological assessment, psychotherapy, and medication management services to individuals and families, including children, adolescents, and adults. He frequently acts as Special Master on complex community property cases and has been appointed by family court judges as an expert witness. In 2014, he was qualified in the Los Angeles Superior Court as an expert on Louisiana law and testified regarding the validity of a transsexual marriage that took place in Louisiana. In 2016, he was also qualified in the Circuit Court of Prince William County, State of Virginia, as an expert in Louisiana Community Property.
Mr. Tranchina served as a member of the Marriage - Persons Committee for the Louisiana State Law Institute. Most recently, he has been inducted into the International Academy of Family Lawyers. He has also been named "2019 and 2024 Lawyer of the Year in Family Law" by Best Lawyers in America.

Mrs. Becky Hunter

Becky is from Lake Charles, Louisiana. She graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University. After graduation, she was a White House intern in the Office of Presidential Advance. Afterwards, she worked as the SWLA Regional Representative for U.S. Senator David Vitter. She graduated from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center (“LSU Law”), where in addition to her studies, she worked as a lobbying intern at the Louisiana Legislature and as a student attorney for victims of domestic violence. Since the beginning of her legal practice, she has consistently practiced family law. Becky is a member of the Louisiana State Law Institute’s Marriage-Persons Committee and is appointed to the Fourteenth Judicial District Court’s Local Rules Committee. She has served as President of the SWLA Bar Association, currently serves as Vice President of the SWLA Bar Association’s Family Law Section, Treasurer of the SWLA Bar Foundation, and is a member of the House of Delegates for the Louisiana State Bar Association. She is an instructor for the Trial Advocacy Program at LSU Law and is on the planning committee for this 29th Annual LSU Law Family Law Conference. Over the years, Becky has been consistently recognized as a Family Law “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers, honored as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, and named to the “Top Lawyers in Acadiana” list by Acadiana Profiles Magazine. Becky is married to the mayor of Lake Charles, Nic Hunter. They are co-owners of a restaurant, Villa Harlequin, and they have a son and two daughters.
